Stressed?

Stress, stress, stress! Everyone gets stressed out. As a Therapeutic Massage Therapist/ Intuitive Healer I come across a lot of people that are stressed. I find that it is important that people start paying attention to their Body's and what triggers stress. If everyone too a few minutes out of the day to just get centered it would make such a big difference. The thing is everyone is so busy trying to survive that people tend to forget to just take a minute to themselves. I don't mean sitting down and check your phone. Actually sitting down or laying down without any distractions from the modern world and just breathe. Does anyone actually sit down without technology and take a minute? Probably something to think about.
Anyway, Does anyone know what happens to their body when it under goes stress? During stress your body responds in many ways such as breathing faster to help distribute oxygen and blood quickly to the body. Stress hormones can cause your blood vessels to constrict and raise your blood pressure... etc. Muscle tension is a natural reaction to stress. Some may suffer from a condition called Chronic Stress in which the muscles are in constant guard. When the muscles are tense for a long time it can cause and onset of Stress-related conditions or disorders. Like tension headaches, migraines that are usually associated to chronic muscle tension on the shoulders, neck and head. Muscles has memory and because muscle has memory it is important to reprogram them. As a MT/ Energy Worker I help people de-stress and reprogram muscle by using different types of modalites that might be suitable to the person under going stress. I give each person a safe a haven to actually unwind and de-stress from this crazy little thing called life. There are other outlets that that may help. Some pick up hobbies, workout, massage but whatever that outlet maybe but at the end it still does the same thing it helps them to destress.
